On the dresser . . . Lay the locket
Sparkling and twinkling in the light
I remember you taking it from your pocket
With a smile, eyes shining bright
Pulling me close in your arms
As you whispered in my ear
Exercising, all of your charms
As I dabbed, at a happy tear
Professing your undying love
You hooked the locket, in place
I knew you were a gift, from above
Seeing the love shining on your face
From early on, our lives entwined
We knew we were meant to be
Good or bad, we were resigned
To sail lives’ turbulent seas
So swift the years had passed us by
Through rocky storms and weather
Good memories, bring a content sigh
So many sweet years . . . Together
Yes, the pretty locket, shaped in a heart
Bring thoughts, of that long ago day
We vowed, nothing would tear us apart
Our love . . . Would forever stay
Hooking the locket, around my neck
Again, dabbing at a tear
Our love boat, was ship wrecked
Now, you’re no longer here
Like these diamonds, my love still glows
And this locket, that’s shaped like a heart
Reminds me of your undying love
Our souls mingle, though we had to part
But . . . When the day comes, my love
I ‘ll join you, when the time is right
You’ll know from a distance, it is I
My heart-shaped diamond locket
Will be . . . Shining bright
